Our region encompasses 11 counties and three Indian reservations, includes 31,248 sq. miles, and is home to approximately 148,000 residents. The region is larger than 10 states.
For over 20 years, our rural communities have suffered dramatic depopulation, economic constriction, loss of basic services, and eroding infrastructure, but there is still a strong regional commitment towards enhancing the livability of our communities. Through strategic partnerships and community outreach, we will capitalize on the perseverance of our people and provide the much needed engine for economic change, sustainability, and prosperity.
